Greece is not a tiny country, so if you want to see as much as possible, you need to allow a little more time than planned. While a week in Greece is doable and very enjoyable, those extra three days ensure you will get to see and do as much as possible in as many places as possible. Of course, two weeks is even better, but we will get to that later.
For now, we want to inspire you by showing you how you can include activities, culture, sightseeing, and local cuisine in just ten days, so let’s dive right in.
This island-hopping adventure is the perfect trip to incorporate the capital of Athens with a few of the best Greek islands, not to mention the variety of exciting activities included in just a 10-day trip. While this trip is nine days long, we suggest adding an extra day in Athens at the end before your flight home, which is an excellent way to see and do whatever you missed out on when you first arrived. This is the beauty of tailor-made travel with the help of an In-Destination Expert.

Detailed Itinerary
Let us show you what is involved in your 10 Days Greece Travel Itinerary, including stop locations, sights, activities, and cultural experiences. This is not to be missed if you want an all-around authentic Greek experience.
Day 1. Arrive to Athens

Today you will arrive in one of the oldest cities in the world, and this is where your Greek journey begins. Depending on when your flight arrives, you may have time to explore the local area, have a local dinner, and enjoy the sunset before tomorrow’s adventure starts.
Day 2. Athens Acropolis & Food Tour

Today will be an exciting day filled with ancient sites and food. On the first official day of your 10 Days Greece Travel Itinerary, you will enjoy a private tour of the Acropolis in all its glory, with a guide on hand to answer all of your burning questions and teach you about Ancient Greece.
Next up, your three-hour city food tour begins, with a walk around various parts of Athens, visiting local artisan shops and specialized food stores, as well as a visit to one of the best foodie attractions of the city, which is the central market. During your food tour, you will be passing by many ancient sights and attractions, so this is a day that mixes history, food, and culture just perfectly.
Day 3. Arrive at Mykonos by flight

After a brief stint on the mainland (don’t worry, you will be back for more), you will fly to the bustling island of Mykonos, which has so much to offer. You can enjoy a host of watersports activities here, relax on the beach, stroll through the pretty villages or sip on some local wine as you gaze out at the marvelous scenery. The choices are endless.
Day 4. Sailing to Delos & Rhenia

Today will be filled with adventure – and what if we told you that a visit to an untouched island was on the cards? A sailboat will take you to the island of Rhenia, a true hidden gem in Greece and located beside the sacred island of Delos, which you will also visit today. You will enjoy two hours of exploration here on Rhenia island before enjoying a guided tour of Delos UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of Greece’s most important archeological sites. Think, ancient ruins, viewpoints, and history galore – that is Delos in a nutshell!
Day 5. Mykonos Town Day of Leisure

Mykonos Town is a fantastic place to spend a day, and you will lose yourself among the narrow streets, small local shops, and beautiful architecture, which make excellent photo opportunities. In addition, there is plenty of time to try local food, mingle with the locals, and perhaps enjoy some downtime at the beach, so do as you please, as this day is yours to spend as you like.
Day 6. Boat from Mykonos to Santorini

Next up is the island of Santorini. You will arrive from Mykonos by hydrofoil boat and can enjoy this island at your own pace. Santorini is truly captivating and is known for its local cuisine; who could forget their famous wines, so be sure to take your time stopping to smell the roses (taste the wines) along the way. The image of this iconic island is alluring, and you will often find yourself pausing for photos, perhaps with a gasp – it’s just THAT beautiful! Enjoy the sunset over the volcanic island this evening before your cultural day begins tomorrow.
Day 7. Wine Tasting & Cooking in Santorini

As mentioned, Santorini is well known for its food and wine. It has its local cuisine, unique dishes, and a variety of grapes, making it an ideal place to get lost in a culinary experience. You will learn to cook a traditional meal today, with an expert cook by your side to teach you the tips and tricks, as well as try a variety of wines, all of which will bring you deeper into the culture of this vibrant island. This is the perfect day for food and wine lovers and those who love to cook.
Day 8. Caldera Sunset Cruise

Santorini is a volcanic island, and a cruise within the caldera is a must when visiting, which is why we have included it in your 10 Days Greece Travel Itinerary. Along the way, you will catch sight of Red and White Beach, spectacular views of Oia, Fira, and the Lighthouse to the south, while you will have a stop off at Black Mountain, the hot springs, and Thirassia. The sunset from the boat will be a magical experience and will most likely be a highlight of the journey, so be sure to take it all in and enjoy each moment.
Day 9. Arrive back in Athens

As mentioned, the original island-hopping adventure sees you departing Athens today; however, as part of this 10 Days Greece Travel Itinerary, we have added a final day in Athens, which we believe is a great way to finish up the journey. As part of your visit to Athens at the start of the trip, there may have been some places you wish you could spend more time, some museums you wanted to visit, or some eateries you wished to try out, so today is the day you can do just that.
Your In-Destination Expert is on hand to tailor this trip to suit you while providing some excellent activity options for your last day of the trip, as well as some hidden gems and local attractions you shouldn’t miss out on. This is a perfect opportunity to watch your last sunset from one of the surrounding hills in Athens – we suggest Lycabettus Hill for stunning views and a local atmosphere.
Day 10. Departure Day

This is your last day, and transport to the airport will be arranged for you.
